Creating your custom grillz is easy with our step-by-step process, designed for safety, comfort, and precision. Professionals craft each piece based on your dental impression, using medical-grade materials and digital tools. Here’s how your custom piece is made from start to finish:

Begin by selecting your preferred grillz design using our online builder. You’ll choose your metal type, tooth placement, and whether it’s for your upper or lower row. - Take Your Impression at Home:
Once your order is placed, we’ll send you a dental-grade mould kit with prepaid return packaging. Follow the instructions to take an accurate impression of your teeth from home. - Return Your Kit for Review:
Send the finished mould back using the prepaid envelope. Our dental team inspects the impression to confirm fit and accuracy before starting production. - We Craft and Finish Your Grillz:
Your grillz are digitally shaped using your impression, then cast, polished, and hand-finished in small batches. This helps achieve a clean, secure fit and a standout look made for your smile.
What is the shipping process for my order?
Once your order is placed, we send your dental mould kit directly to the address you provided. This kit includes dental-grade impression materials, step-by-step instructions, and a prepaid return satchel for convenience.
After you’ve taken your impression and sent it back, our team begins crafting your custom grillz. Each piece is designed, cast, and hand-finished using your unique mould for a secure, personalised fit. Once complete, your grillz are securely packaged and shipped with tracking. You’ll receive email updates so you can follow your order from dispatch to delivery.
Because each grill is handcrafted, occasional remakes or revisions may be required to maintain quality. This can result in minor production delays. We appreciate your patience as we take the necessary steps to maintain the high standards of quality for every piece.
International orders are accepted, and all shipments are sent in insured, express packaging to protect your investment. Customs or import duties may apply depending on your location.
Do you ship globally?
Yes, Dr Grillz ships globally. We deliver both the dental impression kit and your finished custom grillz directly to your address. This policy applies whether you’re ordering from within Australia or from overseas.
The shipping times may vary depending on your location and local postal conditions. International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes that may apply. Each order is shipped with tracking information, allowing you to follow your package from dispatch to delivery.
To avoid delays, we recommend checking your country’s import and delivery regulations in advance. Wherever you are in the world, Dr Grillz brings custom-fit dental grillz to your door with precision, care, and professionalism.
How long does it take?
Each grillz piece is custom-made to fit your individual dental impression, so it can’t be resold or reused. For this reason, we do not offer refunds once production has started.
However, if your grillz have not yet entered production and your mould kit has not been shipped, a partial refund may be possible.
- An 80% refund if your mould kit has not yet been dispatched.
- A 50% refund will be issued if your order is cancelled after the kit has shipped but before crafting begins.
If you experience any issues with the fit or function of your grillz, our team is here to help. We’ll assess your concern and may be able to offer adjustments depending on the mould and condition of the piece.
To avoid delays or dissatisfaction, we recommend carefully reviewing your design before ordering and following the moulding instructions closely. This helps achieve a comfortable, accurate result from the start.
How long does it take to receive my custom grillz?
The full process to receive your custom grillz generally takes around three to four weeks, depending on your location and design complexity.
Here’s how it works:
- The impression kit is dispatched within one to two business days of placing your order.
- Once you receive it, use the included instructions to take your dental mould and return it using the prepaid shipping envelope.
- Production begins after we receive your impression. This stage usually takes 7–10 business days, as each grillz set is handcrafted for a custom fit and polished finish.
- Your completed grillz are then shipped express, with tracking and protective packaging.
If your design includes diamonds or intricate custom work, please allow extra time for production. We take additional care with complex pieces to maintain a high standard of craftsmanship.
What payment options are available?
We offer a range of secure payment options to suit your needs. Whether you’re purchasing a single piece or planning a larger custom set, we provide flexible ways to pay.
Accepted payment methods include the following:

Our DIY mould kit includes everything you need to create a safe, accurate dental impression at home. It’s designed to be easy to use, even for first-timers, while promoting hygiene and precision throughout the process.

These medical-grade trays are shaped to fit either the upper or lower teeth. They help capture a detailed impression that forms the foundation for your custom grillz. - Silicone putty (base and catalyst):
The two-part dental putty mixes easily and sets quickly. This allows you to make a reliable mould that reflects your tooth’s shape and bite pattern. - Protective gloves:
Disposable gloves are included to maintain hygiene while handling the materials and taking your impression. - Step-by-step instructions:
Clear and easy-to-follow instructions are provided to guide you through each stage of the moulding process. They are designed to be simple and easy to follow, even for first-time users. - Prepaid return envelope:
A secure, trackable envelope is included so you can send your completed impression back to us quickly and safely.
Once we receive your mould, our dental team and jewellers begin crafting your grillz with attention to fit, detail, and quality.
How do I clean and care for my grillz?
Proper care is essential to maintain the hygiene, shine, and longevity of your custom grillz. Following these steps will help keep your piece in great condition over time.
To clean your grillz:
- Clean after every use.
Rinse your grillz with warm water, then gently brush all surfaces using a soft-bristled toothbrush and a mild, non-abrasive soap. Focus especially on areas that come into contact with your teeth and gums. - Avoid damaging substances.
Do not use alcohol-based mouthwash, denture tablets, boiling water, or harsh chemicals. These substances can weaken the materials or tarnish the finish of your grillz. - Rinse and dry thoroughly.
After cleaning, rinse your grillz again under clean water. Pat dry with a soft cloth to prevent moisture buildup, which may contribute to bacterial growth or metal degradation. - Store properly when not in use.
Place your grillz in a clean, dry, protective case to prevent scratches, dust exposure, or damage. Avoid storing them in damp environments, as this may affect their appearance and fit.
Regular cleaning and safe storage will help extend the life of your grillz and maintain their comfort and appearance.
How long will my grillz last?
With proper care, your grillz can last for many years. Their durability depends on the material, the frequency of wear, and the level of maintenance. Solid gold grillz are highly resistant to tarnishing and ideal for long-term use when handled carefully. Silver pieces may be more prone to surface wear and require polishing over time.
To help extend their lifespan, clean your grillz regularly and avoid exposure to harsh chemicals or high temperatures. Store them in a dry, padded case when not in use. It’s also important to avoid bending or applying pressure to the grillz, as these actions may affect their fit and structure.
If your grillz become damaged or lose their shape, we offer assessment and adjustment services. Most minor adjustments start at $50, and our team can provide a personalised quote depending on the condition of your grills.
We offer a 1-year warranty on removable grillz and a 2-year warranty on permanent grillz. This warranty covers manufacturing faults under normal use but does not apply to accidental damage or general wear and tear.
Can I sleep or eat with grillz in?
We do not recommend sleeping or eating while wearing your grillz. These pieces are designed for cosmetic wear and are not intended for continuous use or for functional activities such as chewing.
Wearing grillz while eating can trap food particles, leading to hygiene concerns or discomfort. It may also damage the grillz, increase the risk of cracking, or affect how they fit. In some cases, grillz may dislodge during meals and pose a choking hazard if accidentally swallowed.
Sleeping with grillz in place may apply unnecessary pressure to your teeth and gums. Over time, this could contribute to changes in your bite or cause tooth movement. In some cases, orthodontic treatment may be needed to manage the effects.
To help maintain the condition of your grillz, wear them only during appropriate occasions. Remove them before eating or going to bed to minimise the risk of damage or discomfort. Always store them safely in a clean, dry case when not in use.
