Dr Grillz started in Perth in 2015, when founder Dr Maheer Shah couldn’t find authentic gold grillz locally — even for his friends who were part of the same creative and hip-hop circles.
Inspired by underground music, global craftsmanship, and the deeper cultural history of dental jewellery, Maheer began experimenting with moulds and designs — first for himself and then for those around him — sending them to trusted makers both locally and overseas to see what was possible.
A qualified dentist with a passion for aesthetic expression, he blended clinical precision with cultural style, believing that dentistry isn’t just about fixing teeth — it’s about helping people feel confident in their own skin. Today, Dr Grillz brings high-quality, custom dental jewellery to life with a commitment to comfort, oral health, and bold personal identity.
